Description
A digital frequency discriminator (DFD) with phase modulation on pulse (PMOP) detection 2.0 to 18.0 GHZ. Can detect frequency and phase information of RF signals over an instantaneous bandwidth of 16 GHz, covering the entire 2–18 GHz range in near real-time.
Continuously streaming 4-bit phase information and 14-bit frequency information is available at a 40 MHz rate through a parallel interface. This streaming data allows the user to detect and report phase modulation on pulse and frequency information with a throughput latency of under 200 nsec. Buffered phase data is sampled on command at 80 MHz rate for greater (1.4°) resolution. Identifies the detected RF input frequency with a nominal frequency resolution of 1 MHz and an RMS accuracy of <3 MHz. Measures the frequency of pulses
less than 50 ns and up to CW. The output format can be modified to emulate existing systems.
